Bay County Animal Control
Updated COVID-19 Information
*Face masks are required for all persons entering our shelter for the safety of our patrons and staff.*
Bay County Animal Control may look a little different when you arrive! We have been working to update our shelter to make it feel a little more like home for our pets and your future family members!
Holiday Hours:
Bay County Animal Control will be closed on the following days in observance of the holidays. Please be aware that Animal Control will not be servicing cat traps on these days.
January 1 - New Year
January 18 - MLK Day
When you arrive you will notice that our gate remains closed as we are taking the health and safety of our patrons, our staff, and even our furry friends very seriously. We are currently operating with a unique schedule and there are a few things that we want to make sure everyone is aware of before your arrival:
Adoptions:
All adoptions are on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the event. We cannot accept applications by phone or email.
Currently, we are conducting adoptions on specific scheduled events. We are limiting the number of families entering our facility at one time and as such we thank you for your patience as there may be a wait to meet your new pet but we assure you that they are as excited to meet you as you are to meet them!
The next adoption events are scheduled as follows:
Saturday - January, 02 / 10 A.M.-2 P.M.
Saturday - January, 16 / 10 A.M.-2 P.M.
Saturday - January, 23 / 10 A.M.-2 P.M.
Saturday - January, 30 / 10 A.M.-2 P.M.
Surrendering Animals During COVID-19
As mentioned in the above "Adoptions", our shelter is currently closed due to COVID-19 precautions. We are still available to assist the public by appointment. We offer appointments for owners who are no longer able to care for their pets during our updated business hours above (CALL FOR AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS). Owner surrenders will not be scheduled during times when our adoption events are taking place.
If you locate a lost pet in your neighborhood we will be available to assist you on a case by case basis, but we do ask that you still contact our shelter prior to your arrival to ensure a smooth and safe experience.
