The Bay County Board of County Commissioners will hold its 16th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 at the Bay County Government Center, 840 W. 11th St.
The Bay High School and North Bay Haven choirs will perform both traditional and secular Christmas music while free hot cocoa and cookies are served to the public as they await a special appearance by Santa Claus.
Commission Chair Clair Pease said the annual celebration is a favorite tradition.
“This is one of the first Christmas events of the season, and it sets the tone for the holidays and brings the community together in a meaningful way that reflects the spirit of Bay County,” Pease said.
The public is invited to attend and encouraged to bring cameras for photos with Santa.
