Bay County Commission launches new phone app

Home Posted on January 09, 2025

Bay County residents now have important county information at their fingertips with the launch of the all new “MyBayCounty” app, available for download on Android and iPhone mobile phones.

The new app features quick links to the county’s meeting agendas, emergency information platform, calendar, news articles, open positions, and more.

Embedded within the MyBayCounty app is an option called “Report a Problem” that allows citizens to report troubles like water leaks, malfunctioning traffic signals, potholes, blocked storm drains, park maintenance problems, code enforcement issues and mosquitos, among others.

“This app leverages technology to make important information more easily available to the public,” Bay County Commissioner Clair Pease said. “This will help the county improve its customer service and address community concerns more efficiently.”

The “Report a Problem” feature is powered by SeeClickFix, and uses technology to help citizens provide the county with pictures, videos, specific descriptions, and more. It not only allows citizens to report problems but to view, comment on, and vote to fix problems submitted by their neighbors. Residents can also create their own “watch areas” to receive notifications about all issues reported in that area, enabling them to follow the progress of all service requests.

In addition, the platform provides officials with a centralized issue management system to handle issues from creation to resolution, engaging residents throughout the process.

If a resident reports a problem inside the city limits of one of the municipalities, that information is automatically directed to the responsible entity so that they may address the problem if it is within their purview.

In addition to the MyBayCounty app, citizens can submit reports through the website at connectbay.org or by downloading the ConnectBay app on Android or iPhone. The platform is available to all residents in Bay County, including unincorporated Bay County, Panama City and Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven, Springfield, Callaway, Parker and Mexico Beach.
