Disaster Preparedness

Bay County Emergency Services encourages all residents to build and maintain a disaster supply kit before hurricane season or any expected emergency. Your kit should include at least 7 days' worth of food, water, medications, and essential items for each member of your household, including pets.

Do not wait until a storm or disaster in imminent, plan early and often.

Recommended items:

• 1 gallon of water per person per day
• Non-perishable food
• Flashlights and batteries
• First aid kit and prescription medications
• Personal hygiene products
• Important documents (in waterproof container)
• Portable phone charger (battery-operated or solar)
• Pet food, leash, carriers, vaccination records
