Bay County Fire Rescue
Fire Suppression
Bay County Fire-Rescue serves unincorporated areas of Bay County for fire suppression responding to structure and wildland fires and county-wide for Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Bay County Fire-Rescue also responds to mutual aid and automatic aid calls with county municipal fire departments. The BCFR Hazardous Materials Team is a regional asset that responds throughout the region to assist fire departments and law enforcement agencies with hazardous materials concerns. BCFR occupies 13 stations in unincorporated Bay County.
Emergency Medical Services
The Bay County Board of County Commissioners created the division of Emergency Medical Services the Department of Emergency Services the Emergency Medical Services Division after the service was transferred from a local hospital in 2013. In 2024, the Division of Emergency Services was merged with Bay County Fire Department to form Bay County Fire-Rescue (BCFR). Bay County Fire-Rescue provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) care on scenes of medical and traumatic emergencies throughout all of Bay County. ALS care is rendered via several methods to include, ambulances, quick response vehicles and fire apparatuses.

Bay County Fire-Rescue utilized some of the most advanced medical equipment available for prehospital use today. Some examples of this equipment includes:
- Lifepak 12 Cardiac Monitors
- Video Laryngoscopes
- Handtevey Pediatric Treatment System
- Stryker Power Stretchers and Automatic Loading System
- Combicarrier II Scope Stretchers
- and Much More
In addition to the excellent equipment, the medical treatment protocols all for advanced prehospital care that includes:
- Rapid Sequence Intubation
- Prehospital Antibiotic Administration
- Advanced Trauma Protocols
- and much more

Events
Bay County Fire-Rescue also medically supports several special events throughout the year including First Friday in Panama City, The Gulf Coast Triathlon, the Ironman Triathlon, high school Varsity football games and many other events.
